A foodies’ tour to Kuala Selangor.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of city living and join us on a tour to a typical kampung 45 km out of Kuala Lumpur, where you will learn to make traditional kuih such as kuih bahulu and tidbits such as tapioca and banana chips. Eat as much as you like and take some home for the family.

The makcik will prepare a traditional meal in her home set amongst lush greenery surrounded by padi fields and vegetable gardens. Fish in the padi fields. Relax and unwind as you stroll through the herb and vegetable garden, and see how the kampung folk harvest their spoils for sale in the markets. This rejuvenating foodies tour starts from 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Maximum 10 persons per tour.

Gourmet Tour to Perak – 2D/1N

Day One:
Coach up to Ipoh, Tin Mining Capital of the World (about two hours north of Kuala Lumpur). Tour the historic limestone caves and temple. Join the locals in Ipoh’s old town and sample the hawker delights for lunch.

Proceed to Sitiawan. Visit a family-owned biscuit factory and watch the biscuits baked in a “tandoor” oven. The factory is open from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy a selection of sweet dumplings for afternoon tea in one of the town’s oldest coffee shops. These sweet delights are available only between 3 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. and must be pre-ordered.

Visit the Turtle sanctuary.

Check in at hotel. Dine in a seafood restaurant set deep in a rubber estate and coconut grove.

Day Two:

Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning stroll to the ferry terminal to cross to Pangkor Island. Tour the island and check out the salt fish factory.
Return to Lumut – check out of hotel.
Proceed to Sitiawan - visit a family owned noodle factory. See how these fine noodles are made.
Indulge in a typical foochow lunch at the most popular Chinese restaurant in Sitiawan.
Return to Kuala Lumpur (approx.three hours)

Payment for all Gourmet Tours should be made in full upon confirmation.
There will be no refunds for last minute cancellations.

A cancellation fee will be imposed as follows:
a. Under 14 days 50 percent of the tour fare.
b. Under 7 days or no show 100 percent of the tour fare.

Owing to circumstances beyond our control, foodies 'n' friends (M) Sdn. Bhd. reserves the right to adjust its tariff at its discretion without prior notice.
After commencement of travel, no refund, in part or in full, will be given for services included in the package that are not taken up.
All Gourmet Tours are sold as one complete package and should any participant in the group change his/her mind in not joining in a particular component, no refund will be given.
It is the client's responsibility that he/she has a valid passport and visa, travel/health insurance and vaccination where necessary.
