AUGUST HAPPENINGS
Our Bali trip is almost upon us and we’re really looking forward to going. There are 8 of us in this group and it’s still not too late if you wish to join in but we will need confirmation immediately. Check website for details.
We’ve some really fantastic cooking workshops coming up with celebrity chefs. We have an award winning Sichuan chef and two chefs from Shenzhen Please take note and do join in. All workshops are hands-on.
Of the eight major schools of China's culinary art, Sichuan cuisine is perhaps the most popular. Originating in Sichuan Province of western China, Sichuan cuisine enjoys an international reputation for being spicy and flavorful. Yet the highly distinctive pungency is not its only characteristic. In fact, Sichuan cuisine boasts a variety of flavours and different methods of cooking, which feature the taste of hot, sweet, sour, salty, or tongue-numbing.
Shenzhen cooking is characterized by its combination of different cooking techniques and ingredients. Particularly popular is Guangdong style cuisine which is beautifully presented and delicately flavored and Hunan cooking which is less hot and spicy in this city than in its home province!
